Rev. Dr. Thomas Wm. Mattax, is an ordained minister of the Gospel. He completed his undergraduate studies from the University of Central Oklahoma. He has been employed with the Federal Bureau of Prisons working with adult male offenders since 1990.

He has gone on to complete requirements for a Master of Biblical Counseling and A Doctorate of Divinity in Orthodox Theology. He is also a Certified Pastoral Member of the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling, as well as a Certified Temperament Counselor through the National Christian Counselors association. He has furthered his knowledge of counseling through course work offered by the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Dr. Mattax completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Pastoral Counseling through Colorado Theological Seminary and is an NCCA Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor. He has a deep belief in the life abundant for all of Christ followers, and this includes healthy minds, relationships and a strong understanding of who were are as God's creations. It is his desire that all come to a profound realization of who God created them to be and through this knowledge grow closer to their true self, others and the Lord.

He is the founding pastor of Trinity Chapel and has used counseling extensively within his ministry since 2001. His current ministry is now focused upon Christian Counseling using the Arno Profile System and the proven techniques of the National Christian Counselors Association. Dr. Mattax is happily married and resides in Oklahoma City. He is the proud stepdad of three grown children, and has been since 1992. It is through these great kids that he has learned the deep satisfaction of being a steparent. His interest are Church History, Prayer, Celtic Spirituality and Spiritual Direction. 


Dr. Mattax’s Statement of Beliefs:

I believe the Bible is the Word of the Living God and is the final authority over our lives.

I believe that there is one God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe that salvation is an act of God's saving grace by the work of the Holy Spirit.

I believe that there is but one head of the Church, the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe in the return of the Lord Jesus!
